The covering that encases the entire tooth surface restoring it to its original shape and size is called a dental crown (or cap). A crown protects and strengthens tooth structure that cannot be restored with fillings or other types of restorations. There are several types of crowns. Porcelain (tooth colored crown) are the most popular because they resemble your natural teeth. They are highly durable and will last many years, but like most dental restorations, they may eventually need to be replaced. Porcelain crowns are made to match the shape, size, and color or your teeth giving you a natural, long-lasting beautiful smile.

What are Injectables?
Injectables are a prescription injection that relaxes the muscle and helps smooth moderate to severe frown lines. It’s used for both cosmetic and therapeutic purposes.
Injectables can treat glabellar lines otherwise known as forehead furrows. These lines are horizontal indentations which stretch across your forehead and often intersect with frown lines – which are the vertical lines that form between your eyebrows.
The injections are quick, effective, and non-invasive. Taking only a few minutes to complete; applying the anesthetic may take longer than the actual procedure! It’s non-surgical, so you can leave the office after your injections.
How Do Injectables work?
Injectables can treat moderate to severe frown lines.
Facial fine lines can be due to repeated movements, muscle contractions, and aging. Your dentist can determine whether wrinkles are treatable in this way.

A single injection can target five points or areas between your eyebrows.
Are the results permanent, and how long will it take to see results?
You’ll see changes 2-3 days after your treatment, and results may last for up to 5 months. You may need 2 treatments per year to maintain your desired look.
Is It right for me?
Injectables are safe, but it may not be the right option for everyone. First, your dentist will review your medical history and ask questions about your lifestyle and aesthetic goals to make sure injectables are a good fit for you.
You may not be an ideal candidate if you:
- Only have mild facial lines
- Are below age 18 or above the age of 65
- Are pregnant
- Are sensitive to botulinum toxin
- Are allergic to cow’s milk protein
- Have had allergic reactions to any of the ingredients
- Have skin disorders
- Have thick and oily skin
- Have frail facial muscles
- Have an asymmetrical face or sides of the face that look different from each other
- Have swelling at the injection site
- Have deep facial scars
It is important to tell your dentist about all medication (both prescribed and over the counter), supplements, and any medical conditions you may have.
It’s important to be honest as there may be side effects that can extend to areas outside of the treatment site. Severe cases can be life-threatening, and those with conditions before receiving the injections are most vulnerable.

Bring your toddler or young child to Springbank Dental Centre’s Little Smiles Program. This event is specifically designed to give them a fun and positive first experience at the dentist!
Children are introduced to the dentist and staff at their own pace in a warm and welcoming environment. During your child’s visit with us, we will show them all the “tools” and “gadgets” of the dental world, count their teeth with them, and inform them, and you, about oral health! By introducing kids to the importance of oral health as early as possible it will help in eliminating or reducing anxiety that would be carried into adulthood.
We can’t wait to meet your little one!
